Description

The Mi Smart Door/Window Sensor is an essential security and smart automation device for the connected home. This next-generation sensor detects the open or closed status of doors, windows, drawers, or cupboards in real time. Its major innovation lies in the integration of an ambient light sensor, allowing you to refine your home automation scenarios based on brightness (for example, turning on the hallway lighting only when opened after sunset).

Technologically, the sensor uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 technology for minimal energy consumption and increased responsiveness. Thanks to the Mi Home app, you can monitor access history and receive immediate security alerts in the event of an intrusion. Installation is simplified as much as possible: no tools are required. The sensor and its magnet are attached using the high-strength adhesives provided. Connected to a Xiaomi Bluetooth Hub, it becomes the brain of your automations, capable of interacting with your light bulbs, air purifiers, or security cameras.

Workshop Advice & Usage

For optimal operation, the gap between the sensor and the magnet when closed must not exceed 18 mm. Avoid installing the sensor on ferrous metal surfaces, as this may interfere with the magnetic field and cause false detections. During initial setup, ensure your phone is close to the sensor for Bluetooth pairing. If you wish to receive notifications while away from home, check that your Xiaomi Bluetooth Hub is within signal range of the sensor.
