MECHANIC OT Series - Professional Anti-Static Soldering Tips
Technical Description
MECHANIC OT tips are designed for technicians demanding instantaneous thermal reactivity. Thanks to their special "Lead-Free" coating, they offer excellent wettability, allowing solder to flow smoothly and precisely. The multi-layer plating technology ensures an extended lifespan, even during intensive high-temperature use.
The OT-TI model (Ultra-Fine Curved) is the tool of choice for integrated circuit (IC) repairs and microscopic copper wire soldering. Its curved tip allows access to the densest areas of smartphone motherboards while providing better visibility under a microscope.
Technical Specifications
- Series: MECHANIC OT (High-Grade Soldering Iron Tips)
- Available models: OT-TI (Curved), OT-TS (Fine Straight), OT-SK (Knife)
- Material: High-purity oxygen-free copper + Iron/Chrome plating
- Compatibility: Standard 900M soldering stations (HAKKO, Quick, Atten, Mechanic, etc.)
- Properties: Anti-oxidation, ultra-fast thermal conductivity, lead-free
- Inner diameter: Approx. 4.0 mm | Outer diameter: Approx. 6.5 mm
Shape Selection Guide
- OT-TI (Fine Curved Tip): Preferred for microscope work as it offers a better viewing angle and avoids obstructing the work area during micro-jumpers.
- OT-TS (Straight Tip): Ideal for micro-positioning and point-to-point soldering on SMD components.
- OT-SK (Knife Shape): Perfect for cleaning processor pads (CPU/NAND) and soldering multi-pin FPC connectors.
Advantages
- Thermal Stability: Reduces waiting times between two solder points thanks to ultra-efficient heat recovery.
- Increased Longevity: The surface treatment better resists erosion caused by acidic soldering fluxes.
- Surgical Precision: The machining of the OT-TI tip allows interventions on tracks of less than 0.1mm with angled access.
- Ease of Tinning: The work surface is factory pre-tinned for immediate use.
Maintenance Tip: To maximise the lifespan of your OT tips, clean them with a metal (brass) sponge rather than a damp sponge and use a "Tip Refresher" regularly.
