MECHANIC OT Series - Professional Anti-Static Soldering Tips
Technical Description
The MECHANIC OT tips are designed for technicians requiring instantaneous thermal reactivity. Thanks to their special "Lead-Free" coating, they offer excellent wettability, allowing solder to flow smoothly and precisely. The multi-layer plating technology ensures an extended lifespan, even during intensive high-temperature use.
The OT-SK (Shape Knife) model is the tool of choice for solder residue cleaning operations and soldering multi-pin connectors. Its bevelled blade allows it to cover a larger surface area, facilitating the smoothing of pads on integrated circuits (ICs) and processors.
Technical Specifications
- Series: MECHANIC OT (High-Grade Soldering Iron Tips)
- Available models: OT-TI (Curved), OT-TS (Fine Straight), OT-SK (Knife)
- Material: High-purity oxygen-free copper + Iron/Chrome plating
- Compatibility: Standard 900M soldering stations (HAKKO, Quick, Atten, Mechanic, etc.)
- Properties: Anti-oxidation, ultra-fast thermal conductivity, lead-free
- Inner diameter: Approx. 4.0 mm | Outer diameter: Approx. 6.5 mm
Shape Selection Guide
- OT-SK (Knife Shape): Perfect for cleaning processor pads (CPU/NAND), removing solder with wick, and soldering multi-pin FPC connectors.
- OT-TS (Straight Tip): Ideal for micro-positioning and point-to-point soldering on SMD components.
- OT-TI (Fine Curved Tip): Preferred for microscope work as it offers a better viewing angle.
Advantages
- Thermal Stability: Reduces waiting times between solder points thanks to ultra-efficient heat recovery.
- Increased Longevity: The surface treatment better resists erosion caused by acidic solder fluxes.
- Cleaning Precision: The bevelled shape of the OT-SK allows for flat passes over circuits without scratching the protective varnish (solder mask).
- Ease of Tinning: The working surface is factory pre-tinned for immediate use.
Maintenance Tip: To maximise the lifespan of your OT tips, clean them with a brass wool cleaner rather than a wet sponge and use a "Tip Refresher" regularly.
