The MECHANIC I936-LF-IS tip is a precision tool designed to meet the environmental and technical standards of lead-free soldering. Its ultra-fine curved geometry is specifically adapted for micro-soldering work under a microscope, where access to components is often hindered by circuit density or the height of peripheral components. It allows for jumpers and solder reworking on 0201 SMD components with total visibility of the impact zone.

Technically, the LF series is distinguished by a specific surface treatment. As lead-free alloys are more aggressive towards copper and require higher working temperatures, this tip features a densified multi-layer plating. This protection limits the formation of cavities (pitting) and extends the tip's lifespan, even during intensive use with highly activated soldering fluxes. The pure copper core ensures stable thermal transfer, essential for reaching the melting point of modern alloys without overheating the PCB.

The curvature angle of the IS tip allows for ergonomic handling, reducing the technician's wrist strain during precision interventions. Workshop Advice & Usage

To maximise the longevity of the I936-LF-IS tip, we recommend working between 340°C and 365°C for lead-free alloys. Using a temperature above 400°C will accelerate the oxidation of the special LF coating. It is imperative to "wet" the tip with a little fresh solder before each standby. For cleaning, prefer brass wool over a damp sponge, as the latter causes micro-cracks in the plating due to thermal shock, which would prematurely reduce the efficiency of the tip's conductivity.
