MECHANIC I936-LF-I Soldering Tip (Straight Type - Special Lead-Free)
Description
The MECHANIC I936-LF-I tip is a precision component intended for professional soldering stations using the 936 standard. This "LF" (Lead-Free) model was specifically developed to overcome the accelerated wear of traditional tips when using lead-free alloys. Its straight and extremely fine point is the preferred tool for surgical micro-soldering operations, allowing targeted intervention on nanometric-sized components without affecting neighbouring elements on the printed circuit board.
The technical design of this tip is based on a high-purity electrolytic copper core, ensuring rapid heat transfer from the heating element to the end. The multi-layer coating incorporates a reinforced protection barrier against chemical corrosion from "No-Clean" fluxes and operating temperatures often exceeding 350°C. Its surface finish ensures optimal surface tension, allowing the solder to remain concentrated on the apex of the tip for ultra-precise application dosage.
Ideal for work under a microscope, the I936-LF-I excels in reconstructing torn tracks and cleaning solder residue between fine-pitch integrated circuit pads. Its straight shape offers excellent ergonomics for vertical insertions and continuity measurements directly on smartphone motherboard test points.

Workshop Advice & Usage
Lead-free alloys saturate tip oxidation more quickly. To maintain the wettability of your I936-LF-I, we recommend not leaving the iron on for more than 5 minutes without use. Use a realistic set temperature (360°C maximum recommended) and prefer regular cleaning with a brass wool pad. If the tip turns black and no longer holds solder, use a tip refresher at a low temperature to restore the plating without attacking the copper core.
