TrueDepth Front Camera for iPhone 16 - Prime Quality
Description
This TrueDepth front camera, from our Prime range, is the benchmark technical solution for workshops requiring a "zero defect" service on the iPhone 16. Unlike standard removed cameras (which lead to the irreversible loss of Face ID and the display of a system alert message), this Prime version has been factory-treated to lift Apple's pairing restrictions (Parts Pairing).
Sourced from a meticulous disassembly (original Apple part / Pulled), this camera has undergone a complex process of erasing its old cryptographic identifier (EEPROM). Thanks to this "Diagnostic Verified" treatment, it is recognised as blank by Apple's system configuration tool. You can thus perform the software pairing, restore all biometric functions (Face ID), and return the device to your customer without any security notification in iOS settings. The additional cost of this part is directly linked to this unique reprogramming capability.
Technical Specifications
- Part Type: Original Removed (Pulled) - Prime Quality (Diagnostic Verified)
- Hardware Compatibility: iPhone 16 only
- Biometric Status: Face ID 100% recoverable (after software diagnostic)
- System Behaviour: No error message, no "Unknown Part" alert post-repair.
- Restored Functions: TrueDepth facial recognition, Cinematic Mode, Smart HDR, Autofocus.
Lens Protective Film (must be removed)
WARNING: Prime range cameras are often delivered with a transparent protective film on the lens. This film must be removed before putting the device back into service.
If the film is not removed, the observed behaviour is as follows: pairing succeeds, Face ID works, no iOS alert appears, but the camera fails to focus and iOS displays the message "the lens appears to need cleaning". This is in no way a defect in the part or an installation problem, but solely due to this film remaining in place.
Handling: Remove the film just before reassembly and never touch the lens directly with your fingers. The lens marks very easily (smudges and micro-scratches), which degrades image quality. In case of smudges, clean using a dry microfibre cloth.
Pairing Protocol (Critical)
WARNING: The success of the cryptographic pairing of this Prime part depends on a strict procedure. According to our latest supplier feedback, the diagnostic will fail if the device is linked to an iCloud account during the test.
Please strictly follow this assembly protocol:
1. Prior Disconnection (Crucial Step): Before launching the diagnostic, you MUST disconnect the customer's Apple ID account and disable the "Find My iPhone" function.
2. Removal of the protective film: Remove the transparent film present on the lens (see section above). Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
3. Hardware Replacement: Proceed with the physical installation of the Prime camera.
4. Diagnostic: Launch Apple's system configuration / diagnostic tool to perform the part pairing and calibrate Face ID.
5. Reconnection: Once the diagnostic is successful (Face ID works, iOS warnings have disappeared and focus is correct), you can reconnect the customer's Apple ID.
