Workshop Advice & Usage

The 5mm ThickPad is particularly recommended if you frequently use motherboard preheaters or high-power hot air guns. Recommended method: To maintain surface grip, regularly clean the mat with isopropyl alcohol (such as MCE ART.117) to remove solder flux residue and dust. Technical note: Although the mat is resistant to 500°C, avoid leaving the iron tip in prolonged contact (several minutes) in the same spot to prevent any surface discolouration of the silicone. This mat can also be rolled for transport without retaining memory creases.
